1842, 12 October: William Dee, 32, convict #783, a shoemaker, died at Port Arthur. 1842, 13 October: An inquest by Coroner Charles O'Hara Booth concluded that he died by "the visitation of God". Note: This document runs to 5 pages and is very difficult to read but it seems to refer to the body having been exhumed. Why? (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/SC195-1-9-743). 1842, 14 October: William Dee, 32, was buried at Port Arthur (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD34-1-2p059j2k).

1831, 3 August: Convicted at Warwick Assizes for robbery and sentenced to transportation for 14 years. 1832: On arrival in VDL, he was shoemaker, single and said he had been transported for highway robbery 1841, December: He was sentenced to 6 months' hard labour in chains with a recommendation that he be sent to Port Arthur for "misconduct and having a quantity of potatoes in his possession for which he could not account" (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-10$init=CON31-1-10p92).
