20 May 1856: Marriage Permission - to Bernard McGuirk (listed as free). Approved. 1 June 1856: Married, at New Norfolk. Mary aged 22. Bernard aged 37yrs.




Mary Delany was convicted at Queens Co., Ireland on 19 July 1850 for Arson - setting fire to a dwelling. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Blackfriar' arriving 29 May 1851. Aged 20yrs; nurse girl; Roman Catholic; 4'11 1/2". Native Place - Queens County. Brothers - Peter & Martin Sister - Margaret Assignments in Colony. 15 Jan 1856: Ticket of Leave granted.
