Tried 10/7/1815 at Beccles - no crime listed. 26/8/1815: Put on board the Portland hulk at Langston Harbour. Colonial Secretary Papers: DELF, Robert. Per "Fame", 1817 1823 Nov 21, Dec 29: On list of persons in Van Diemen's Land claiming expiration of sentence with details from the indents (Reel 6012; 4/3510 pp.74-5) Seems Robert was disembarked in VDL not NSW. Robert was listed as being 27 years old, 5'6 1/2" tall, dark brown hair, hazel eyes. Native place: Yarmouth. 5/9/1818: Secreting himself on board the Endeavour from Port Jackson - to be transported to Newcastle for 3 years. 1/1/1820: Sydney Gazette: Unclaimed letter at Post Office. 9/11/1822: TOL Tasmania 14/5/1824: COF Tasmania. 25/2/1825: Hobart Town Gazette: Robert Delf, 302, 5ft.6½ in. dark brown hair, hazel eyes, 35 years of age, free by servitude, charged with house-breaking, absconded from the custody of a constable in Nov. 1824.—£2 Reward. Advertised for him until 8/10/1825 - then no further mention of him on 'trove' in any states.
