Rose Dempsey was tried & convicted at County Carlow Quarter Sessions for stealing clothes on 1848 & sentenced to 7 years transportation to VDL. She was 21, Roman Catholic, could read but not write, was 5'2 1/2' tall, with a fresh complexion, round face, sandy brown hair, grey eyes & her native place was County Carlow. She received her Ticket of Leave on 30 August 1853.
