The Convict Indentures state that Mary Dennehy was 19 years old. She could not read or write; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of County Cork. She was a kitchen maid. Mary was convicted of stealing clothes in June 1837 and sentenced to 7 years transportation. She had one prior conviction and served 3 months. Physical attributes: height 4 feet 10 1/2 inches; complexion fair ruddy and freckled; hair light and eyes grey. Transport number 2. Prisoner number 2-38. Received Certificate of Freedom in 1845 (number 45/419). Comment on indenture entry states that sister Honora Denayh, a prisoner, out 3 years ago. Please note difference in spelling of surname for Mary and Honora.
