1838 - 5 March 1838. Trial; Chelmsford. 1838 - 12 April 1838. Received on board "Leviathan' moored at Portsmouth. Aged; 29 years. Trade; Labourer. status; Single. Able to read 1839- 3 July 1839. Boarded the Layton for V. D. L.
Samuel Denny/Denney was convicted at Essex on 05/03/1838 for sheep stealing (previous conviction). Life sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Layton 3' which arrived 08/12/1839. Single man. Died on board 04/12/1839 - just prior to arrival of ship.
