Bartholomew was listed as 20 years old on arrival. Native Place: Ballymote, Sligo. Bartholomew was 5'3½" tall, dark sallow complexion, dark brown hair, blue eyes. Colonial Secretary Index: DENROY, Bartholomew. Per "Martha", 1818 1819 Jan 4: On list of convicts disembarked from the "Martha" and forwarded to Parramatta for distribution (Reel 6006; 4/3499 p.245) 1828 Census: Parramatta - Bartley Drury, aged 26, Free by Servitude, servant to John Shying, shopkeeper, Parramatta, RC. 4/3/1824: COF 30/9/1824: COF renewed 24/5/1838: COF renewed. 1/4/1848: Goulburn Gaol. 15/9/1859: Electoral voter in the Municipality of Central Illawarra. This is a possible death: 1/10/1863 Empire, Sydney: SUDDEN DEATH.-A man of the name of Bartholomew Drury, in the employ of Mr. D. Healy, of Charcoal, was found dead in his bed on Sunday morning last. A magisterial inquiry was held yesterday before T. A, Reddall, Esq. From the appearance of the body when found, it was evident that he had been dead some hours. The deceased had visited the race-course during the races, where he indulged rather freely, and on the day before his death, had complained of a pain in his side." The conclusion arrived at was, that deceased died of natural causes.-Illawarra Mercury.
