Of one of the trials,—that of Daniel Detloff Von Ranzow, for administering poison with intent to murder, we are enabled to give a full report. The circumstances attending this case are of so singular a nature, that we are sure our readers will interest in it. SUPREME COURT.—SATURDAY, 11TH MARCH, 1837. About half past 2 this afternoon Daniel Detloff Van Ransow was placed at the bar upon an indictment of four counts, severally charging him with having on the ?th instant. on board the Ship Furl William in Bombay harbour, (and therefore within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court,) administered or caused to be administered a certain quantity of corrosive sublimate to one George Dicey, chief officer of the said ship, with an intent to murder him; and further with having administered or caused to be administered to the said George Dicey some destructive substance unknown for the same purpose. ...
