Lent Assizes. J. Williams, Frances Hitchins, W. Stewart, and Ann Dickens, were convicted of uttering forged notes. Public Ledger and Daily Advertiser. 9 April 1818. Warwickshire. On Friday the 17th last, Ann Bamford and William Gray, underwent the awful sentence of the law at Warwick. It was inaccurately stated, that the above convicts, together with W. Stewart and Ann Dickens, were executed the 17th. It is expected that the sentences of the last mentioned criminals will be commuted to transportation for Life. -------------------------------------------------- 22 Aug 1820. On list of female convicts embarked on "Princess Charlotte" for the public service in Van Diemen's Land https://content.archives.nsw.gov.au/delivery/StreamGate?dps_pid=FL3897937&dps_dvs=1672825703801~184 Lord Wellington, Anne Diggons, tried at Warwick, Aug 1818, 14 years. Wellington & Pss Charlotte, 1820. Tried Warwick Aug 1818, 14 years. See Record for details. She had obtained a Ticket of leave by Aug 5 1823, when she was punished for living in a state of adultery with Chas. Williams, and was sent to the Factory and had to forfeit her ticket of leave. By 1830, her service was at the Male orphan School.
