Jose Diez was convicted for Larceny in Western Australia on 01/04/1841. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Vixen', arriving 13/08/1841. Assignments in Colony. note 31/08/1841 Cleveland work party - on Probation. First Class Probation Pass holders. Jose Diez, Vixen. (Launceston Examiner 14 Feb 1844)




"Port of Launceston. Arrivals 13th-the schooner Vixen, 44 tons. Simmons, from Swan River, Down Se Co.. agents-passengers, Mr. W. R. Steel, Aden Alaid, James Reynolds, William Phillips, John Rose, Rose Dize, prisoners of the crown." The Courier 20 Aug 1841. "Swan River.-Three soldiers of the 51st regiment arrived at Launceston last week, as prisoners from Swan River. Two of them for having broken into the bonded stores, and one for having got intoxicated whilst on duty at the Treasury, and thus allowing it to be robbed." The Courier 20 Aug 1841.
