ESSEX ASSIZE. At these Assizes, which commenced on Thursday … at Chelmsford, before Lord Ellenborough and Macdonald, Thos. Digby, for stealing a black …, the property of Mr. W. Bacon, of Ashdon ; and Teehener, for stealing a grey mare, the property of Morris, of Great Mord, were capitally convicted, sentence of Death.— British Mercury, or Wednesday Evening Post, 14 Aug 1811. ASSIZES. At Assizes, Thos. Digby, and James Tecliener, for horse-stealing, received sentence of death. Bath Chronicle, 15 Aug 1811. Thomas Digby and James Tecblener, who received sentence of death, were reprieved by Chief Baron Macdonald before he left the town . Ipswich Journal, 17 Aug 1811.

Sydney Gazette, 6 Sep 1822. Thomas Digby absconded from Newcastle with another Prisoner who arrived on Fortune (2), Henry Collins. They were both listed as absconded up to the end of November 1821. Presumably, Thomas Digby was sent to Port Macquarie as his punishment for absconding.
