Married Margaret Symes in 1875. Purchased 110 acres at Tooleen Victoria some time in the 1870s died in 1904 leaving 7 children: Mary 28, William 26,John 24, Thomas 22, Edward (dec’), Isobel 20, Edward James 18,

William Dobie was 20 years old when transported.
He was convicted along with Kerr Stewart, for housebreaking and stealing porter, the property of Robert Kerr, Bristo Street, Edinburgh and William Marshall, Potterow, Edinburgh.

William was 5’7 3/4” tall, could read and write a little, single, brown hair, blue eyes, scars.
