The guard consists of Lieutenant Donelan, 57th Regt, with a detachment of the same corps. Dr. Osborne, R. N. is the Surgeon Superintendent. Passengers, Mr. Drew and Mr. Stubbs. Irish Convict Database by Peter Mayberry. John Dodd, age on arrival, 22, per Lonach (1825), Tried at Roscommon, 1824, Life, Robbery highway. DOB 1803. Native of Roscommon Co. Cowboy. ----------------------------------------------------- Roscommon Assizes. The Assizes of Roscommon commenced Friday and terminated on Tuesday last. Judge Burton presided in the Crown Court, where the following convictions took place : John Dodd, for highway robbery, be hanged, and Owen Ryan, for burglary and robbery, in the dwelling house of Edward Curley, sentence of death, which, however, is commuted to less severe punishment.
