1869 - Application for admission. Queen's Orphan School Father; Joseph Clarke, Per Ship; Theresa. C.P. 14 Dec 1852. Trade; Labourer. Mother; Mary Doherty. Per Ship; William Dare. C.P. 17 June 1856. DEAD; 28 Jun 1869 ** Name of Children; - Charles Clarke. Born; 22 April 1861 Sarah Clarke. Born; 4 November 1863 Phenoe Clarke. Born; 29 September 1867 Remarks; The father of these children is almost an Invalid, the mother died. The applicant only earns about 9/- per week. Under the care of their elder sister Children's heads are in a fearful state covered with vermin and the skin entirely eaten off the head .. taken to Hospital for treatment, they are now clean, one child died two days ago. The eldest Girl, Annie 1869 - 2 July. Inquest. Verdict. Natural Causes. Cancer in the nose and tongue
