Mary DOLAN was convicted at Co. Mayo, Ireland on for stealing a quilt. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Blackfriar' arriving 1851. Single woman; aged 23yrs; housemaid; 5'1"; ruddy complexion; reddish hair; Hazel eyes. Roman Catholic. Native Place: Co. Mayo Brothers: William & James Sisters: Honor & Kitty 1851: Assigned to work services at New Town Farm. nr Hobart. 9 Nov 1852: Married Michael Lord. Register has the spelling of Mary's name as "Dolen" and date 20 Sept 1852. St. George's Church, Hobart. (ref. 37/1/11 no. 410) 7 Feb 1854: Ticket of Leave granted. 5 June 1855: Conditional Pardon approved.
