SUPREME COURT. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 14. (Before the Chief Justice.) Michael Donohoe, John Buckley, and John Culbert [Cuthbert], were indicted for feloniously entering the dwelling-house of Thomas Evernden, Esq., Coloonah, near Bathurst, in July last, and stealing therefrom a number of blankets, cooking utensils, and provisions, above the value of £5. … The Jury found the prisoners guilty of larceny. There were other indictments against the prisoners in which, however, the Crown Solicitor declined proceeding, and they were ordered to be remanded for sentence. (Sydney Gazette, 15 Nov 1831, p. 3.) Michael Donohoe, John Buckley, and John Culbert [Cuthbert], stealing in a dwelling-house and putting in fear. Death recorded. (Sydney Herald, 21 Nov 1831, p. 4.) THE undermentioned, Prisoners having absconded from the Individuals and Employments set against their Names, respectively, and some of them being at large with stolen Certificates, and Tickets of Leave, all Constables and others are hereby required and commanded to use their utmost Exertions in apprehending and lodging them in safe Custody. … Donohoe Michael, No. 29-2180, Guildford, 20, Cord Weaver, County of Cavan, 5 feet 5¾, hazle eyes, dark brown hair, florid freckled comp. from No. 1 Iron Gang. 4th time of running. Enniskillen Chronicle & Erne Packet 16 March 1826 - Michael Donohoe was convicted at the Cavan Assizes for stealing 7 pounds 1 shilling - 7 years transportation. State Archives NSW series NRS 1156, item [X32] Indent for the Guildford 10 July 1829 No. 176 Michael Donaghoo for embezzling a letter, four years from the Richmond General Penitentiary as incorrigible Correction - He was freed on 15 March 1840 not 1839. His trial was held at the Cavan Spring Assizes 1826. He was transported in 1829. No certificate of freedom was found. He was sent to the Public Works Department. Following several episodes of absconding and two episodes of thieving, he was sent Norfolk Island for a further period of 7 years. He returned to NSW in 1838 and was freed in 1839 in Yass. His certificate of freedom was issued through Melbourne
