Family connections for James (Donahoe) are: DONAHOE James (Donahoe) was born about 1799 perhaps at Clonmel Tipperary Ireland. He was tried for breaking & entering, on 31 12 1814, & attempting to steal cloth of Francis (Gibbons) at Old Bailey on 11 1 1815 (quick justice), sentenced to death reprieved to Life, held at London Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 18 1 1816 after a voyage of 5months on FANNY; he was 4'4.5" in height-recorded as a seaman. He was a rope maker Free by Servitude when he married Elizabeth (Lee her third (3of4) marriage) on 1 10 1821 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. He was recorded as a rope maker in 1824. He was issued his Ticket of Leave no.117 before 1825 & was recorded muster of that year-constable at Minto He was recorded in 1826 as a constable.>>> [Some details taken from this Website] Elizabeth (Lee) was born on 17 6 1802 & baptised on 31 3 1805 age2 w/James at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She married firstly (1of4) James (Jessop) emancipist on 20 1 1819 at St Johns CofE Launceston. She had a second relationship (2of4) with Robert (Howe his first relationship) & produced a child. She married fourthly Benjamin (Baker) on 26 4 1827 at St Peters CofE Campbelltown. She died on 16 8 1878 age76 mother of at least 8children. He died on 10 11 1823 age14m & was buried at St Phillips CofE Sydney. 3.Sarah (Donaho/ue) was born on 9 8 1824 in Sydney & baptised on 5 9 1824 at St James CofE Sydney. She died on 31 12 1909 age85. 4.Eleanor Melville (Donaho/ue) was born on 29 6 1826 at Lower Minto & baptised on 31 7 1826 at St Peters CofE Campbelltown. The Proceedings of the Old Bailey 174. JAMES DONNAHOE was indicted for burglariously breaking and entering the dwelling house of Francis Gibbons , about the hour of seven in the night, on the 31st of December , and stealing therein, half a yard of cloth, value 8 s. his property.... Prisoner's Defence. I am quite innocent of the crime that is alledged against me; I went up to Mr. Pollto's, it took my whole attention to look at the gass-light; a young man said, he should like a piece of that scarlet cloth; two little boys came running along, and throwed my arm in the window; I am quite innocent. GUILTY - DEATH, aged 16. [Born 1799] London jury, before Mr. Common Serjeant. 1815 - 16 Feb. Sentence; respited 1816 - New South Wales, Australia, Convict Indents Ship; Fanny arrived in Sydney 18 Jan 1816 Name James Donahoe Age 17.
