John DONALD was convicted at Glasgow Court, Scotland on 28 April 1831 for stealing sheep. Had been in prison before. 14 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Gilmore' arriving 22 March 1832. Married man, 4 children. (ref. noted on Conduct Record) Aged 32 yrs (ref. noted on Convict record) Trade - ploughman Colony of VDL: Assigned to work service. 7 July 1838: Ticket of Leave granted. 9 July 1842: Conditional Pardon approved - no. 571. 30 Oct 1850: Free Certificate issued.
