He was in the Irish Warrant for the Ann and Amelia as "John Donoghie" 20 years old, 5ft 8in, grey eyes, fair hair, sallow skin, and his crime was street robbery; he was sentenced in Dublin city to transportation for life in Nov 1823. He is "John Donohoe" in the convict indent and other NSW convict records. His assignment was to John Rogan of Parramatta according to Convict Indent.
