James Roche was charged as an idle and disorderly person; he was arrested in the town of Rathkeale, by Thomas P. Yokes, Esq. who found powder in his pocket, as also one of Capt. Rock’s notices. He was instantly found guilty, and sent off for transportation. David Donovan, for being absent from his house on the Commons of Rathheale, Guilty. William Nix, for the like.—Guilty. Maurice Crosby and William Scully were acquitted. Saunders News-Letter, 9 Mar 1822. -------------------------------------------------- One the convicts, named David Donovan, conveying away on a car from the Sessions House, took off his hat, cheered, and exclaimed.
