Absconded. Donovan Jeremiah, Lord Lyndock, 33-2216, 16, Norfolk, bricklayer's boy, 4 feet 2¾ inches, sallow and freckled comp., brown hair, blue eyes, scar left eye brow, from T. Chippendale, Airds, since 26th ultimo. NSW Govt. Gazette, 3 June 1835.




Tried at the Old Bailey, 9 Dec 1830. 150. JEREMIAH DONOVAN was indicted for stealing, on the 1st of December , 1 basket, value 1s. 6d. , the goods of Mary Gold and Elizabeth Gold . MARY GOLD . I live in Oxford-street , and keep a hardware warehouse - my sister Elizabeth is in partnership with me. We lost a basket on the 1st of December, from under the window, just outside the shop; I had seen it perhaps half an hour before - the prisoner was brought back with it. JAMES BUTTON . I am porter to Mr. Watkins, an oilman. I was going up Oxford-street, and saw the prisoner take this basket - I ran, and stopped him with it. SAMUEL PATERSON . I took the prisoner - he said he took the basket to pay for his lodging at No. 16, Church-street, St. Giles'; I went, but could not find that he lodged there. GUILTY . Jeremiah was one of 50 lads from the hulk Euryalus, who were boarded onto the Lord Lyndoch ship for transportation.
