"I have a legitimate and evidence-based claim of descent from Michael Dooner, Irish convict transported in 1839, but the proof needs one final document — Frank Doonar’s birth certificate (1909) — to name his parents and lock the chain beyond doubt. The evidence chain is strong from Michael → Ipswich children → later Doonar families → Frank (your grandfather)."

Michael Dooner was transported for 'unlawfully compelling Patrick Ward to quit his employment' he was detained at Kilmainham Gaol, Co. Dublin, 23/03/1838. Convict resides in the Parish of Ballymahon, Co. Longford. Convict was convicted with Owen Costello, for the same offence. Owen Costello/Costelloe was also on board - he was transported for 'Whiteboyism' and Michael Dooner's crime is listed as 'Burglary'. Father: James Dooner Mother: Maria 1843: TOL Moreton Bay. 3/2/1851: Married Ellen Flannery in Brisbane - they had 12 children. Ellen died 18/9/1877 2/2/1872: Michael died aged 58 years in Ipswich, QLD., and was buried at Ipswich Pioneer Cem. Qld., as was Ellen.
