Bligh was one of the first aldermen of the Albury Borough Council. He came to the district shortly after he received his COF 21/1/1847. He married Mary Dowdy 4/11/1833 and hey had 7 children. Many descendents still in the Albury area. Mary died in 1858 and Bligh remarried in 1860 to Bridget Robertson in Albury. Bligh died in Bungowannah, Albury in 1882.
