John Dowdell, for manslaughter; seven years. ... Vindicator, 20 July 1842. Manslaughter ... Dowdell, for the murder of Henry Smith, at Portgienone, on the ? March last, and James M'Peak, for aiding. Dowdel pleaded guilty of manslaughter, but not of murder. M'Peak pleaded guilty of riot, and of aiding in the assault 11. Smith.
