Family connections for Abraham (Dowgill) are: DOWGILL Abraham (Dowgill/Dougall) was born in 1796. He was tried at York Assizes Yorkshire, sentenced to 14years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 31 12 1820 after a voyage of 5months on HEBE. He married Bridget (Comer/ummerford her second marriage) at Darlington Hexham CofE Christ Church Newcastle. [Some details taken from this Website] Bridget (Comer/ummerford) was born in 1807 & became a childnurse & kitchenmaid. She was tried for stealing money at Queens co. Ireland in March 1828, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 4 1809 after a voyage of 4months on EDWARD; she was assigned to W (Burrows) at Kent St. She may have had a first relationship with William Jamieson (Sherwin). She was issued her Certificate of Freedom no.35/261. She produced 3known children in her lifetime, all boys.
