Queens’s County Special Commission. … Summary. —Sentence of death passed on six; judgment recorded, two ; transportation for life, seven; transportation for seven years, eight ; fine and imprisonment fifteen: acquitted one; total thirty-nine. Out of thirty-nine prisoners put upon their trial, one single instance alone of perfect acquittal occurred. Drogheda Journal, 16 June 1832. James Dowling, assaulting the dwelling house of Wm.
