Significant because it was the first ship to bring all female women to the Colony.

Family connections for Ann (Doyle) are: DOYLE Ann (Doyle) was born about 1769. She was tried w/1other for burglary of Benjamin (Shepherd) at Maidstone Lent Assizes in Kent about 19 3 1797, sentenced to death reprieved to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 3 6 1790 after a voyage of 12months on LADY JULIANA-a ship with 228females who easily entertained the whole crew & also sailors at Teneriffe stopover; she was sent to Norfolk Island, arriving on 7 8 1790. She married firstly, at age recorded as 19, Phil/lip (Devine) alias Thomas Hilton (Tennant) on 1 8 1790-shown in list-as confirmation?-for group ceremony of November 1791 on Norfolk Island & produced 4children. Her marriage broke up by 1805. She is recorded as sentence expired on stores in February 1805 on Norfolk Island.>>> [Some details taken from this Website] Phil/lip (Devine) alias Thomas Hilton (Tennant) was born about 1761 & became a currier (dresser & colourer of leather after tanning). He was tried w/W H (Tennant) for stealing Dowlas shirt etc, on 6 3 1786, of Thomas (Todd) at Chelmsford Essex General Quarter Sessions on 25 9 1786, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 1 1788 after a voyage of 8.5months on Fleet ship ALEXANDER. On 16 1 1789 he received 200lashes for stealing. He was sent to Norfolk Island on SIRIUS, arriving on 13 3 1790 (the date of its sinking on reef near Kingston Pier Slaughter Bay). He was flogged in 1791 for using seed corn as food. He was Free by Servitude by 1796. In 1805 he moved with son Edward to Van Diemens Land (Tasmania) then NSW to the Windsor District. On 8 10 1816 he was granted 36acres at Evan, which was put up for sale with house & 12acres cleared on 25 6 1819-within his contracted ownership. He had been issued his Conditional Pardon when he died as emancipist on 9 2 1821 age60 & was buried, as alias Thomas (Tennant), at St Matthews CofE Windsor. He is recorded as sentence expired Free by Servitude constable in February 1805 on Norfolk Island. He left Norfolk Island with Ann (Doyle) & her children on 3 9 1808 as part of the first evacuation on CITY OF EDINBURGH to Derwent Tasmania, arriving on 5 10 1808. He is recorded as on stores on 2 10 1818 at Hobart Town. He died in June 1825 at Hobart. William (Parsons) does not have an entry on this Website as yet-although a William (Parsons) is found on NEPTUNE SCARBOROUGH SURPRIZE Fleet in 1790 & a Thomas (Parsons) is also found: Thomas (Parsons), then, was tried probably at Old Bailey, sentenced to Life, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 7 9 1791 after a voyage of 6months on Fleet ship SALAMANDER. National Archives. HO 47/6/71 1787 Certificate/memorial of Henry Gould and Alexander Thomson on several convicts attainted and for whom 'some favourable Circumstances' appeared after their trial and now recommended for mercy on the conditions set against their names: Kent Assizes at Maidstone, 19 March 1787 1. Ann Doyle and Ann Poor, for a burglary and stealing goods, value 20/-, from the house of Benjamin Shepherd. Recommendation: 7 years transportation.

Ann Doyle was tried and convicted at the 1787 Lent Assizes, Maidstine, Kent, for burglary, he was sentenced to death, this was later commuted to transportation for 7 years Left England on 29th July 1789. Ship:- the 'Lady Juliana' sailed with 226 female convicts on board of which 5 died during the voyage. Arrived on 3rd June 1790. Transfered to Norfolk Island where on 1st Agust 1790 she married convict Phillip Devine ('Alexander' 1788), They had 4 children there between 1791-1798. In June 1803 Lord Hobart in London advised Governor King in NSW, that, because of the expense entailed in the upkeep of Norfolk Island, its distance from Sydney and the lack of a safe anchorage, the British Government had decided to remove part of settlement of convicts and military personal to Port Dalrymple in Van Diemen's Land. By 1805 the family had broken up. Philip and his son Edward went to Van Demons Land briefly but returned to NSW and settled on land in the Windsor district. Ann Doyle left Norfolk Island on the 'City of Edinburgh' for Port Dalrymple in 1808 with William Parsons, taking three children with her to Van Demons Land, where on 3rd June 1812 the married. Phillip Devine died on 9th February 1821 at Wilberforce NSW age 60. Ann died on 6th August 1822 at Hobart, VDL age 53. William Parsons died in June 1825 at at Hobart, VDL.

Married Phillip Devine alias Thomas Tennant. They had four children : Thomas b. 1798 Norfolk Island and married Jane Easton ; Edward b. 1796 Norfolk Island and married Rosetta Pearson; Rebecca b. 1794 Norfolk Island and married James Haydock Reiby; and Sarah b. 1791 Norfolk Island and married Evan Thomas.

Additional Children attributed to the relationship between Ann Doyle and Philip Devine: Rebecca Devine 1794-1854, Edward Devine 1796-1859 and Thomas Devine 1798-1850. All children born on Norfolk Island. Ref: Flynn, Michael; The Second Fleet.

Ann Doyle was convicted at Kent, aged 18, of burglary. She was sent to Norfolk Island where she cohabited with Philip Devine aka John Tennant (Alexander), they had one child Sarah Devine born 1791. Ann married William Parsons in Hobart Town in 1812 and died 1822 in Hobart Town
