Convict Notes

Salford Easter Sessions. George Davies. 17, and John Doyle, 16, pleaded guilty to stealing on the 21st of January, a pocket handkerchief, the property of John Ash. Having been before convicted of felonies, they were sentenced to be transported for seven years each. Manchester Courier, 14 April 1832.

I am a DNA confirmed descendent of the John Doyle mentioned in the notes here through Henry Edward Doyle and Lucy Emily Ballard. The birth and death details of the John Doyle that is Henry's father do not match the details of this convict John Doyle. It is my belief this convict John Doyle b. 1816 is not the father of Henry Edward Doyle mentioned here John Doyle b. 1825. This is not the correct family connection.
