Convict Notes

There appears to be a little confusion in the records here. There were two men on Portland named Cornelius Driscoll, both convicted at Cork. One of them had an alias Taylor. Although both appear to have different dates for their Certificate of Freedom, the same serial number is given for their Ticket of Leave.

NSW Convict Index. Cornelius Driscoll, per Portland, 1833, Ticket of Leave, No 37/1850. District, Bathurst; Tried, Cork. Cornelius Driscoll, alias, Tailor, per Portland, 1833, Certificate of Freedom, No 39/2242. 10 Dec 1839. TL 37/1850.
