James Driscoll and Florence Driscoll, were indicted for stealing three sheep, the property of William Hayes. The sheep had been stolen off the prosecutor’s land at night, and were found the house of a butcher in the town in the town of Skibbereen, seven miles distant, on the following morning, where they had been brought the prisoner Florence Driscoll. It was clearly proved that the other prisoner, who lodged in the butcher’s house, was not out during that night; he was therefore acquitted. The prisoner Florence was found Guilty, and sentenced to be transported for 7 years.   Southern Reporter, 26 Mar 1825.
