Native of Sherbroke, Cheshire, transported 7 years for stealing in a dwelling house, convicted 7th August 1823 at Chester, aged 24.
physical description noted as:
Height: 5’ 4 ½ “, Hair: D Brown,Eyes: Brown
remarks: dimple on chin, anchor back right hand and indecent word back rt hand (4 letters ref female genitalia, this was in defiance of rule 276: “except when at labour clothing must be kept closely buttoned up” the convict was to obey also rule 284: “every time he passed a superior a convict had to raise his hand to his cap”, this forced show of respect in Dudlows case became an insult)R.P. mermaid, P.S., Head of horse rt arm.
