That your petitioner received a Ticket of Leave from his Excellency Govn. Macquarie in November 1821 which he still holds and humbly trusts it will be considered by your Excellency as proof of his good conduct. That your petitioner having learned that his father and brother arrived as Free Settlers at Van Diemen’s Land – therefore most respectfully solicits your Excellency to be pleased to grant him permission to proceed to Hobart Town on his Ticket of Leave with the view of joining his family and for such mark of your Excellency’s favour, Petitioner will ever pray.
