William DUNN was convicted at Launceston, Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on 24 April 1866 for the murder of Patrick Doran by stabbing him in the chest, at the Cressy Hotel. Rosanna Dunn was also co-charged but she was found not guilty. Rosanna was a convict transported on the 'Elizabeth & Henry'. William was given a Life Sentence and sent to Port Arthur Penal settlement. Record states that he original came to the Colony per the ship 'Clarence' (free?). (ref. not found) Rosanna Dunn did have a son William, but such few details are recorded the name may just be a coincidence. Note on record "Free".(undated)
