1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

The convict indentures states that William Dunne is 21 years old. He could read: religion Roman Catholic; status single and is a native of County Kildare. He was a boatman. William was convicted of manslaughter at Dublin City on 6 February 1836 and sentenced to life. He had one prior convictions and served 1 month. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 6 1/4 inches; complexion sallow and freckled; hair brown and eyes grey. Transport number 55. Prisoner number 36-1860. Received Ticket of leave in 1846 (number 46/1100).
