Convict Notes
Samuel Dyke was convicted at Middlesex, London on 3 July 1828 for stealing spoons from his employer. Previous offences. 14 yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the ship 'Roslin Castle' arriving 1828. Single man. Mother and father at native place of Monmouth. Samuel Dyke, Grocer. Assignments in Colony. Several records of misconduct and punishments. 1833: Breaking and entering and stealing liquor. Committed for trial. Guilty. Executed at Hobart Town 21 Jan 1834.
