Born in Towcester, Northamptonshire, England; arrived in Tasmania on 17 Feb 1847; convict record states that, in November 1850, he "Agrees to abstain from the use of alcohol"; married widow, Emily Jane aka Jane MEDLICOTT nee HUTCHINS in 1855 and they had 2 sons and 3 daughters; died 16 Aug 1907 and is buried in the Carr Villa Cemetery in Launceston, Tasmania.
