John Eardley was listed as 18 years old on arrival. Place of Birth: Stoke upon Trent. Occupation: China painter. Father: ??? Eardley, overlooker at Master Daniels' Factory, I worked last for my Uncle Eardley - I worked for Master Spode. John was single, 5'6¾" tall, gre eyes, light brown hair, EH & Woman Sun Moon & Stars inside right arm EH betn finger & thumb same hand Mermaid AE a Man with a glass in his hand FE HD anchor on left arm blue spots betn finger & thumb same hand ring prick'd on ring finger same hand. 1830 Muster: Public Works 1832 Muster: Assigned to Mr. J. The following Convicts under sentence of transportation for life, were removed from our County Prison on Sunday last, to the Justicia Hulk. at Woolwich, viz. Addin Grimley, John Eardley, Charles Ambrose Tibbitts, Howe. William Turner, William I.ta, and George Grandfield. Staffordshire Advertiser, 7 June 1828.
