Robert was born in Edinburgh, Scotland to John Edmonston & Elizabeth Allan. Robert married Harriet Cameron in 1842 in Melbourne, Victoria.  Robert & Harriet raised a known 6 children in Victoria.

Robert Edmonston was transported, along with James Brown (Bengal Merchant 1834 NSW).  Robert was a “Ostler/Groom”, and his address was Rose Street, Edinburgh.

Robert was 5’6 1/2” tall, brown eyes, black hair, fresh complexion, single, pockpitted.

1835: Assigned to Capt. McKay.

11/9/1840: TOL
1841: Free Certificate.

Robert died at Ararat, Victoria, aged 74
