Convict Notes
NOTICE, WHEREAS Edmund Edkins having absconded from my hired service, under suspicious circumstances, the public are hereby cautioned not to harbour or employ him. A reward of one pound will be paid by me to any person who will cause him in be lodged in any of Her Majesty's Gaols. Warrants have been issued for his apprehension by the Stroud Bench. Supposed to be on his way to Sydney. DESCRIPTION : Free by servitude; arrived in the colony by the ship Lord Lyndoch, in 1838; aged 24; and stands about five feet eight inches in height: dark complexion, with a sullen look and dresses something in the style of a groom or coachman.
