Edward Mooney was convicted at Dublin City on 27 Aug 1840 for Burglary. 10yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'British Sovereign' arriving 17 March 1841. General Conduct: lazy, artful & indifferent. Single man; aged 28yrs; trade - carter; 5'6 1/4"; can read; Roman Catholic. Native Place - Wicklow, Ireland. Period of Probation: 15 months. Several notes of misconduct. Ticket of Leave granted 9 June 1846. Conditional Pardon approved 16 Jan 1849
