Convict Notes
Edward MOSS's daughter Maria born 1843 married William George HEALES born 1847, in Victoria, 1873. William was the son of a Premier of Victoria Richard HEALES. Maria had previously married a convict John Eveleigh in 1860.
Edward Moss came from Friston, Suffolk. He was 5’10” tall, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, fresh complexion, married, wife Mary, 8 children. C1840: wife Mary nee Morsely and his 8 children arrived in VDL. Two more children were born after Mary’s arrival, Ann 1841, and Maria 1843. March 1844: Edward Moss, assigned servant at ‘Rhodes’ as blacksmith – disagreement over his being given a pass. 20/5/1845: TOL 5/10/1847: CP C1860: Moved to Melbourne with family. 1862: Edward died at Sandridge (Port Melbourne). Wife Mary died 1887 at St Kilda.
