Edward was born in Shoreditch and was 20 years old when convicted of robbing his employer of Boots. Edward was 5'5 1/4" tall, illiterate, single, protestant, sallow complexion, dark brown hair, grey eyes, pockpitted, scars. 20/10/1845: Emerged from Gang 27/6/1848: TOL 7/1/1851: COF

Edward married Maria Lawley (convict, 'Tasmania' 1844) at Cullenswood, Tasmania in 1849. They had 13 children together and also raised Maria's son from an earlier indiscretion.
