Tasmanian Conduct Record https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-9$init=CON31-1-9p270 Convicted for "Falsehood and Forgery". Stated this offence; " I was forging with Gillespie, a sheriff's officer. Gillespie was hanged. No relations. I was living at Skene in Aberdeenshire. I was a lawyer and Notary Public in Scotland at Skene. Widower." His conduct report is very long and detailed, many cases of "drunk". He was the victim of a kife attack from another prisoner, who was hanged for this crime. SUPREME COURT—Criminal Side. Wednesday, September 26, 1832. The Court opened this day for a general gaol delivery, when William Evans, was indicted for stabbing with a knife, at Bridgewater, with intent to kill him, George Skine Edwards — Verdict—Guilty. The Tasmanian, Fri 28 Sept 1832 William Evans was executed for cutting and maiming.
