John Edwards was convicted at Stafford on 28 July 1840 for stealing handkerchiefs. 7yr sentence. Sent to Parkhurst Prison on Isle of Wight for 3yrs then transported to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania) on the ‘Mandarin’ arriving 16 Oct 1840.
Single; Protestant; can read & write; tailor.
Native place - Stafford
1 yr Probation period at Browns River.
Several notes of misconduct and punishments.
Discharged to his Freedom 5 May 1847, at Deloraine.
