National Archives. Criminal Petitions. HO 17/25/201821 July 31 Prisoner name(s): Elizabeth Edevean. Court and date of trial: Cornwall Lent Assizes, 1821. Crime: Stealing wearing apparel, the property of Mrs Hicks, wife of John Hicks of parish of St Wenn, Cornwall. Initial sentence: Seven years transportation. Annotated (Outcome): Nil. Petitioner(s): Elizabeth Edevean, the prisoner. Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): The prisoner is truly sorry; her aged parents are in great distress. Additional Information: Prisoner from St Ervan, Cornwall. Held in Bodmin gaol.
In 1825 she married Job Smith, a convict from the Wiltshire. They had several children. He died in 1844 and she married James Court(s) another convict from Kent in 1848 (though permission given in 1846). They had one child (my 2 GG) Sarah Jane. Elizabeth and James both died in Dungog, NSW.

Elizabeth’s sister Milicent Edyvean, was later transported to VDL on the William Bryan, and on her conduct record she stated that her sister Elizabeth had been transported to N.S.W. about 10 year s earlier, and that her brother Mark had been transported to VDL. Her brother, Mark Edyvean was transported on Atlas 1833.
