DEATH. March 23rd, at his residence, Mount Harris, Mr. Bryan Egan,aged 64 years. Maitland Mercury, 4 April 1876. In the Supreme Court of New South Wales. ECCLESIASTICAL JURISDICTION. In the will of Bryan Egan, late of Mount Harris,, Macquarie River, near Dubbo, in the Colony of New South Wales, squatter and grazier, deceased. NOTICE is hereby given, that after the expiration of fourteen days from the publication hereof in the New South Wales Government Gazette, application will be made to this Honorable Court, in its Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, that probate of the last will and testament of the above named Bryan Egan, deceased, may be granted to John Egan and Thomas Egan, of Mount Harris aforesaid, squatters and graziers, the sons of the said deceased, and the sole executors in the said will named.-—Dated - this 21st day of April, 1876. Roscommon Special Commission. LAST DAY.-THURSDAY, JUNE 21. This day the special commission terminated. The judges took their seats, and the following were sentenced : … Bryan Egan and Edward Moylan, for having fired a gun at John White, of the police, with intention to kill.—Sentence of death passed, with the solemnities  of the law. … The prisoners were ordered forthwith to be removed from the dock for transportation, means being at hand to effect that object. A large guard of infantry and cavalry were in attendance, and the prisoners were removed to the cars in attendance in the gaol yard. Baldwin’s London Weekly Journal, 2 July 1831.

25/6/1843: Married Anne Gillespie in West Maitland, they had 5 children. Brian Egan was one of the earliest pioneers of the Lower Macquarie. In 1839 he followed in the footsteps of Stuart and Oxley, the first explorers of the West. Brian took up Mount Harris in 1839. 1876: Brian died aged 64 at Dubbo, NSW
