Another old resident of the district in the person of Mrs Osborne, formerly Howarth, and well-known at Lewis Ponds, died at her residence, Autumn-street, East Orange, at the advanced age of 87 years, from senile decay, having been laid up for the past 13 months. The deceased was a native of Kent, Islington (England), and came to the colonies with her parents in 1828 and settled in Wagga, where she resided for 37 years, and married the late Mr Thomas Howarth, the issue living being seven sons and four daughters. About 40 years ago the late Mrs Howarth, with her husband settled at Lewis Ponds, where most of the family now reside. The late Mr Howarth predeceased his wife some 25 years ago. Some years ago the deceased married Mr Abbott Osborne, who died some 12 months ago. This removes from amongst us one of the oldest identities of Lewis Ponds. The remains will be interred in the Church of England Cemetery this afternoon, the funeral leaving her late residence at 2.30 p.m. Mrs M A Hale has charge of the funeral arrangement.
