Glasgow Chronicle newspaper dated Wed 3rd January 1844. Glasgow circuit court. Elizabeth Tasney from Paisley accused of the theft of a large quantity of wearing apparel, also with being habit and repute a thief and previous conviction of theft, pleaded not guilty. After trial the prisoner was sentence to 14 years transportation.
