25/3/1843 Leicestershire Mercury Leicestershire, England: FRIDAY, MARCH 24, 1842 ROBERT ELLIOTT, (34) and SAMUEL ARNOLD, (35) charged with breaking into the dwelling-house of Richard Worth, at Whitwick, on the night of the 2nd of March last, and stealing therefrom three sovereigns, four shillings, a sixpence, and some bacon. Both having been previously convicted of felony were Transported for Life. Samuel Arnold was also on board. Robert Elliott was disembarked at Norfolk Island. 8/4/1847: Arrived VDL per Pestongee Bomangee. Robert was then described as: 5'7¾" tall, 40 years old, light brown complexion, light brown hair and whiskers, light grey eyes, marks of bleeding, arms freckled, literate, single. Native place: Near Leicester. 28/10/1851: TOL refused 31/1/1852, 3/2/1852 - not elibible for TOL. June 1852: Absconded.
