William was described as:- 5'3 3/4" tall, brown hair, grey eyes, swarthy complexion, sun and anchor, with 9 stars left arm, letter E on right arm. 21/6/1832: Assigned to Sir John Wylde, Cabramatta 12/2/1838: Still with John Wylde, was a witness to the murder of William Day, who was hit with an axe by Hugh Hart (found guilty of manslaughter) on the property. 9/4/1838: COF 6/11/1851: Free Pardon. 27/3/1839: Notice of lost COF. 26/4/1843: From this date until his death, he was always in court for many misdemeanors trying to get put in jail for his own protection, as he could not find work to keep himself. He was drunk quite often. 31/8/1867: An old helpless man gave himself up to the court, saying that the Government had the first of him and they should have the last, and having walked all the way from Cassilis for that purpose. He was discharged and ordered to be admitted to the Benevolent Asylum. 1874: William died at Parramatta aged 75.
